Wireless Technology Waves and Its Applications ...Riding the Wave....

Due to huge demand for more connections and data use worldwide, mobile communication standards advanced rapidly to support the world needs. The emergence of 5G, has been in the news lately because the world hunger of the high speed and connectivity of anything anywhere to anything anytime. 3G brought the internet everywhere and 4G LTE made it faster, 5G NR is meant to boost both the capacity and speed, bringing the livestreams without delay. One of the ways 5G will enable this is by tapping into new, unused bands at the top of the radio spectrum. These high bands are known as millimeter waves (mmwaves). Later versions of 5G will also allow things like IoT devices to connect to mmwaves, VLC, as well as allow for use of unlicensed spectrum to increase speeds some more. 5G and beyond is intended to impact every industry, every service provider, and every person on the planet. 5G stretches the spectrum, device and network technology. The aim of this seminar is to present the technologies and challenges for 5G and beyond and discuss the potential future research directions.
